Longma is the reincarnation of a Qilin, a special combination of dragons, Quilin and horses. It is a horned mascot and a dragon mane, body of a musk deer, scaly body of a Qilin, legs and hooves of a horse; "8.5 meters high, long neck, wings on either side, dipped in water without getting wet, there is an ancient map on the back".
In Hue, Vietnam, the image of Longma appears most often on the screens, a "typical product" of Hue. It is a picture of a Longma with her back carrying Ha Do, her feet surfing on the water waves, her head reaching out to the clouds. Longma also appeared on the royal court and temple in the Nguyen court and is often accompanied by other mascots such as turtles, Qilins or phoenixes.
In China it is often shown running on water waves. It is often understood that: Long is a dragon, a dragon rises, means toss, represents meridians, time - the code is a horse, running across, is the diaphragm, representing latitude, space. Thus, Longma represents the raging male, for time and space, Longma run represents the movement universe, and at the same time represents the saint.
The legend:
In ancient times in China, the reign of King Fuxi (2852-2737 before TL), on the Yellow River, suddenly a great thunderstorm arose, the river water rose, a dragon-headed monster emerged off the surface of the water, on his back there are many black and white spots arranged in a special order and bear a golden sword.
The people saw a strange story and quickly reported to King Fuxi. The king immediately arrived, standing on the river bank watching.
King Fuxi was the Holy Emperor so he knew that the monster was a Longma, a rare type of beast that rarely appeared. He said, "If it is your house that brings treasure to me, come here and come before me."
Longma seemed to hear a human voice, slowly walked ashore, and knelt in front of King Fuxi.
King Fuxi saw on Longma's back there was a map of 55 spots, the king remembered the spot of the spots and removed the sword. Finished, Longma immediately went back to sea and left.
The Yellow River water level dropped like before. King Fuxi painted the spots on Longma's back, forming a map, named Ha Do.
The king observed these dots, combined with the observation of natural phenomena in Heaven and Earth, devised a symbolic way of Yin Yang, he drew the Bagua Map.
