The four great beasts are what modern people call Qinglong, Baihu, Zhuque, Xuanwu. They are actually not divine beasts, but gods. In ancient times, they were also known as the four spirits of the sky. They are the product of the ancient star worship. The four beasts are integrated into the five elements and directions, represented by different colors: Eastern blue is wood, western white is gold, southern red is fire, northern black is water, and central yellow is soil.
It is said that from the early chaos, humans and all animals did not exist, from the mass of Taiji light that split into heaven and earth and then wind, water, lightning and fire were born. Phoenix is a creature born of fire. It is the first Phoenix born in Heaven and Earth and is called Chu Tuoc to distinguish it from the great Phuong Hoang clan that was born later. Zhuque has a chicken head, a swallow chin, a snake neck, a peacock's tail, and five colors. Because the incarnation of the divine fire carries the fire nature of the fierce fire, Chu Tuoc's whole body has a vermilion red or sparkling golden color like sunlight, so it is also called the Fire Bird. Chu Tuoc has a very long tail like a peacock's tail feather, his body is always surrounded by fire and fire has five colors.
Zhuque was a happy representative of the mascot, born with great generosity, great compassion, and generosity, ready to forget himself for the sake and help all beings, so the light from the fire on its body was capable of soothing loneliness, suffering, tragedy. Its feathers can reincarnate and its tears can revive dead creatures. Because of the virtue of sacrifice, immense and generous compassion, when he dies, Zhuque's Great Compassion can emit aura, a light enveloping it and turning it into immortality. From the ashes, Zhuque revived, becoming younger and stronger.
As one of the Four Great Beasts, Zhuque above keeps the South in proportion to Summer.
